Storytelling for Mental Health

storytelling for mental health

Storytelling for Mental Health is a program created by Sid Aakowa, working with youth to create original theatrical scripts. Through guided sessions, participants create plots, characters and scenarios that reflect the thoughts and feelings they believe are important to highlight in their lives and the world. Professional actors are then directed by Sid Aakowa to perform the written pieces in a live event for the youth’s peers. The process of creation allows participants and viewers to confront their feelings and thoughts in a healthy manner.
